Copyright and Takedown

How to report content on Celevend that uses your work without permission, what we do about it, and how hosts and vendors can respond.

Last updated: October 2026

Celevend Limited respects the rights of musicians, photographers, designers and writers, and expects the people who use Celevend to do the same. We remove content on notice, we tell the person who supplied it, and we switch off uploads for accounts that keep doing it. The quickest way to reach us is copyright@celevend.com.

1. What this policy covers

Celevend hosts content that our customers supply: the music a host uploads to a digital invitation, the photos guests add to an event album, the words and images on a vendor's listing, and reviews. Celevend does not choose that content, and the person who uploads it confirms that they own it or have permission to use it.

If you own a work and believe it appears on Celevend without your permission, this page tells you how to have it removed. It also tells hosts and vendors what happens when a notice names their content, and how they can respond.

2. How to send a notice

Email copyright@celevend.com with the subject "Copyright notice". You may also write to Celevend Limited at the address in section 8. A notice is complete when it contains:

  • Your full name, and the name of the rights holder you represent if that is not you, with an address, phone number and email we can reply to.
  • The work you say has been copied: its title, the performer or author, and a link to where it is published or registered.
  • Where it appears on Celevend: the full link to the invitation, album, listing or review, and which item on that page you mean, for example the background music.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
  • Your signature, typed or handwritten.

We cannot act on a notice that does not identify the work and the page. We will tell you what is missing and act as soon as it arrives. Sending a knowingly false notice can make you liable to the person whose content is removed.

3. What happens when we receive a notice

  • We acknowledge a complete notice within one business day.
  • We remove or disable the named content within 48 hours of a complete notice. For invitation music, the invitation keeps working and simply plays without the track. The uploaded file is deleted from our systems.
  • We tell the host, vendor or guest who supplied the content what was removed and why, and we send them a copy of the notice without your contact details unless the law requires them.
  • We record the notice, the removal and the account concerned. Repeated notices against the same account lead to the consequences in section 5.

Celevend is not able to judge who owns a work. Removal on notice does not mean we have found anyone at fault, and restoring content after an unchallenged counter-notice does not mean we have found a notice to be wrong.

4. If your content was removed

If you supplied the content and believe it was removed by mistake, or that you have the right to use it, send a counter-notice to copyright@celevend.com within ten business days of our email to you. It must contain:

  • Your full name, address, phone number and email.
  • The link to the page and the item that was removed.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the content was removed by mistake or misidentification, and the basis for your right to use it, for example a licence, a purchase receipt or your own authorship.
  • Your consent to Celevend passing the counter-notice and your contact details to the person who sent the notice.
  • Your signature, typed or handwritten.

We forward the counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. If they do not tell us within ten business days that they have started legal action, we may restore the content. A counter-notice withdraws the strike that the removal placed on your account.

5. Repeat infringers

  • Every removal under this policy places a strike on the account that supplied the content.
  • A second strike switches off music uploads for that account. The host can still use the invitation, remove music and choose music Celevend provides, but cannot upload their own files.
  • Further strikes, or re-uploading content that was removed, may lead to the account being closed under our Terms of Service.
  • A strike is withdrawn when a counter-notice stands, or when we are satisfied that the notice was wrong.

6. Photos, listings and reviews

  • Guest album photos: anyone who appears in a photo, or who owns it, can use the Report photo control on the photo itself. It leaves the album at once and stays off until the host reviews it. A copyright notice under section 2 also works.
  • Vendor listings and portfolio images: send a notice under section 2 with the vendor page link. We remove the image and tell the vendor.
  • Reviews and messages: for content that is unlawful for a reason other than copyright, such as defamation or harassment, email support@celevend.com with the link and the reason.

7. Celevend's own content

The Celevend name and logo, the apps, the website, the invitation designs and templates, and the artwork and copy we create are owned by Celevend Limited or licensed to it. They may be used only to send and view invitations and to use the service as our Terms of Service allow. For any other use, including press and partnership material, email copyright@celevend.com.

Music that Celevend itself provides inside the invitation builder is licensed for that use. Hosts may not download it for use elsewhere.
